Quartz Sand
The efficiency of the adsorption process is influenced by carbon characteristics (particle and pore size, surface area, density and hardness) and the contaminant characteristics.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION OF FILTER MEDIA:
- Media will be hard and resistant quartz or quartzite and free of clay particles, soft grains and dirt of every description.
- Effective size will be 1 mm to 2 mm.
- Uniformity coefficent will not be more than 1.7 nor less than 1.3.
- Ignition loss should not exceed .7% by weight.
- Soluble fraction in hydrochloric acid will not exceed 5% by weight.
- Silica content will not be less than 90%.
- Specific gravity will be in the range between 2.55 to 2.65
- Wearing loss will not exceed 3%.
